Pakistan: PFUJ Condemn Illegal Terminations from SAMA News Pak

Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) President GM Jamali and Secretary General Rana Muhammad Azeem has strongly condemned illegal terminations of working journalists, male & female from a national news channel SAMA News Pakistan  and demanded the News Channel management to reinstate the terminated journalists immediately. SAMA News Pakistan has terminated as many as nine reporters including women from different stations, Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad ignoring all the rules and laws for the media workers. One female reporter from Islamabad was conveyed termination orders on telephone and she had a brain stroke and was in a critical situation.

The PFUJ leadership termed these illegal terminations as financial murder of the media workers and said that they would stand by these journalists and stage protests if they are not reinstated immediately.

“We condemn illegal termination of journalists from SAMA News and urge the concerned authorities to take prompt actions against the management of the news channel. We stand by the terminated journalists and assure our fullest support for a legal fight against their illegal terminations,” the PFUJ leadership remarked.
